About the Author
Sean Kesterson is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a storyteller to the bone. He’s most at home near the water — chasing waves with good friends or carving a wake behind a boat on a long summer weekend — but whether he’s swapping tales around a bonfire or hammering them out behind a keyboard, he’s always been pulled toward the same kind of story: the ones where courage gets tested, legends draw breath, and ordinary people are thrown into extraordinary circumstances.
Born in California to a family that wore its Irish heritage with pride, Sean grew up steeped in the myths of the old country — the warriors, the kings, the things that move in the fog. His years in the Marine Corps sharpened that mythology into something grounded: real discipline, a working feel for how a military actually operates, and the hard-earned brotherhood that forms when you train shoulder-to-shoulder for the worst day imaginable. That’s his fingerprint as a writer — ancient myth welded to authentic military detail, history sharpened against the supernatural, and a genuine respect for the people who carry the weight.
The result is fiction built on a single dangerous question — what happens when the old world refuses to stay quiet? — and it follows that question straight into the fire, where modern warfare and forgotten gods collide.
The Awakening War is the opening novel of The God Steel Chronicles, his epic saga of myth, steel, and destiny. It won’t be the last.
